Exploring Spain is part of the travel agency Muntania Outdoors S.L., (CICMA 2608) specialised in adventure trips and nature and mountain activities.
Muntania started off in 2011 and since then it has been successful in positioning itself in more than 30 countries around the world as well as getting the support of renowned sponsors.
Exploring Spain focuses all its activities in Spain, where its main office is located, hence the know-how, the experience and the local knowledge of Muntania´s team, necessary to create an exceptional trip to discover the most special locations. We offer a different way to get to know Spain with a great variety of trips where we combine nature and outdoors activities with the pleasures of savouring the best gastronomy and the cultural richness. We provide a multilingual service and personal attention so our customers leave with the best impressions.
Activities:
- Muntania Trek:Treks and walking holidays all over Spain with different levels of difficulty and duration.
- Muntania Ski: We offer ski trips in all its forms: Ski touring, cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing and freeride for all levels. We always work with small groups and with a qualified high mountain guide.
- Muntania Climb: A perfect way to discover Spain and its mountains practising climbing in any of its forms: Rock climbing, ice climbing, alpinism or vias ferratas. No matter what physical and technical level you have or the number of days you have available. We offer guided or self-guided tours, where we will manage the accommodation, transfers and information about the climbing routes, for those who prefer to go on their own way. We also offer the unique experience of spending a night in a portaledge a hundred metres above the ground after climbing the amazing walls of Mallos de Riglos, in Huesca.
- Muntania Bike: Cycling routes with different levels of difficulty and duration, to get to know the destinations by bike and with your friends or family.
- Muntania Water: We offer adventure trips to enjoy water activities such as Canyoning, Kayac or Rafting throughout the country.Another interesting water activity is the river rafting with Packraft, a small and light backpacking boat, intended to travel and combine with other nature activities.
- Muntania Run: We organize Trail Running trips where, as well as running on beautiful mountains, it is possible to exchange experiences with other participants and to learn from professionals of the secto.
- Muntania Courses:We design the course in accordance with the experience and the needs of every customer. We offer ski touring, cross country, climbing and alpinism courses in all the Spanish mountain ranges.

Althought during the trip the guide will always be ready to help improve your technique, if you feel it could become a barrier to enjoy in the mountain, Muntania organize initiation and improvement specific courses. In these courses the groups are smaller or even individualized, in order to guaranteed a better care from the instructor and a bigger benefit for the participants.

Javier González García
Javi is a journalist and consultant specialized in adventure travel. For decades he has contributed to several national and international media, and now is editor in chief of the Wideoyster magazine spanish edition.
His professional career has led him to travel all over the world to report on destinations, which has allowed him to work with many tour operators specialized in international tourism. This background knowledge is now being put to the programs of Exploring Spain.
With his wide experience in the tourism industry he became a member of the ATTA (Adventure Travel Trade Association) Media Advisory Board. And now he is the PR & Comunication manager at Exploring Spain. After years and years promoting destinations abroad for the spanish market, it is time to turn the tables and promote Spain as the top adventure destination it is.
Jose Antonio Uña
Jose Antonio is a Mountain Guide who was born in Madrid, and now lives in Barcelona.
He is a Mountain Leader, member of the AEGM and the UIMLA (Union of International Mountain Leader Associations) and has a degree in Psychopedagogy.
Jose Antonio is passionate about the mountain. After 12 years working as a teacher, his love for the mountains led him to also become a guide.
He works for MUNTANIA OUTDOORS as a Mountain Equipment Advisor and Communications Manager but he also works as a Mountain Guide. He is a great specialist in the Pyrenees, the Canary Islands and Picos de Europa in Spain.
He has guided groups in the Alps, Norway, Sweden, Bulgaria, Japan and other destinations around the world.
NURIA SIMÓN
Graduated in Geography, she has always been drawn to the mountains. Her passion for the great outdoors took her to Scotland, where she spent 7 years working in the tourism field.
Her hobbies include climbing, skiing, Munro bagging, running and her other big passion rhythmic gymnastics.
In Muntania she manages the international expansion of the company as well as helping with travel administration and the creation of new trips.
ÍÑIGO AYLLÓN NAVARRO
Mountain Professional Guide. Graduated in Law and Máster in Mountain Sports Law. He dedicates his time to his passion, the mountain, working as a guide and as a legal adviser for activities in nature. He is from Aragon and he speaks Spanish and English.
HUGO CÓZAR ROMEU
High Mountain Professional Guide and graduated in Geology. Member of AEGM (Spanish Association of Mountains Guides).
He has wide experience developing and guiding trips. He practise alpinism and all disciplines of skiing, but he never forgot the cycling, his other passion.
As CEO and travel guide of Muntania, he throws all his experience and enthusiasm in exploring new destinations to create new trips.
